Transmultiplexing / Transmuxing

Published At: September 13, 2024

Transmultiplexing (a.k.a. transmuxing) is the process of converting a video from one container format to another without modifying the original content. Commonly used in video streaming, transmuxing takes existing video, audio, and metadata streams and repackages them into a new container format, such as changing from TS to MP4, without re-encoding the media itself.
