Today we’re excited to roll out new pricing tiers and self-signup. While it might not be obvious, this is a huge milestone for our company, and one that we hope will have a big impact by making video performance monitoring available to everyone delivering video over the internet.
We like building products that we ourselves would love to use. Our founders built both Zencoder and Video.js for this reason. We started Mux because we saw what our friends at the most advanced video companies had built to monitor their viewer experience, and we wanted it, and we wanted to bring it to everyone.
Our initial launch last August was targeted at larger online media companies, such as IGN, Funny or Die and PBS. There’s a lot of great companies in this space that already know the value of monitoring their video and have been asking for a solution. Working with these larger publishers helped us scale our product and really understand complex use cases, and we’re excited to continue to work with them.
Our goal, however, has always been to make our product accessible even to developers who are just getting started with putting video online. For the last few months we’ve been working hard to make everything about our product scalable and able to handle anyone who wants to see their data, to find and support the right combination of features at each plan level, and to beef up our developer SDKs and docs. And, of course, we’ve removed the need to talk to one of us to get set up (but if you want to talk, we’re here). We think some of the most exciting things happening in video today don't fit the "enterprise sales" mold, and we want to help enable the next Twitch or Snapchat.
Sign up for a trial and let us know how it works for you.
If you’re an existing customer, no worries, your plan won’t change (unless you want to move to a new plan). You’ll stay on a custom enterprise plan and maintain all of the features you’ve grown to love. (And thank you for helping us build, and continue to build a great product!)
Sincerely,
The Mux Team
